Best Designer Jeans

It’s difficult to identify the best designer jeans. Partly it depends upon how much you want to spend – something that’s in the high end price range denim wise may be one woman’s idea of ‘designer’ denim. For others – spending in excess of $200 may – to them – class them as designer jeans. For others … it’s less again.

And considering that brands such as Not Your Daughters Jeans and/or True Religion don’t come close to the likes of Versace in terms of price – does that make them less of a designer brand name? If you go by what’s hot and what’s not, then the answer would be a resounding ‘no’.

These days, so many women read fashion glossies, avidly watch TV, swap fashion gossip with friends or work colleagues and many will buy a pair simply according to who’s wearing what. For example – Victoria Beckham’s Rock & Republic label does well but she’s also a walking advertisement for the brand.

Equally, the likes of Fergie and Racel Bilson can be snapped wearing a pair of Rockstar jeans and the word’s ouy – if the stars are wearing them, so can we. And so, with that said, it’s tough trying to compile a list of the top designer jeans. Oddly, some fairly low-priced denims make it onto top ten ‘best’ lists and let’s not forget the likes of Levis and Wranglers – still as popular today as they ever were – but does that make them a designer brand?

Currently, some of the front runners are:

  • Chip & Pepper
  • Monarchy
  • Citizens of Humanity
  • Diesel
  • 7 For All mankind
  • True Religion
  • Rock & Republic
  • Joes Jeans
  • Not Your Daughters Jeans
  • Hudson

Womens designer jeans really are an invidual choice – for me, a good pair of Levis or even Gap if I can get my hands on a pair make my ‘designer’ list. But that’s me. One of the best pair I ever owne were made by Gap, followed a close second by a couple of Diesel pairs. None broke the bank and in truth,  I bought them because they were a beautiful fit.

And maybe that’s what you should do – choose fit, look and feel over branding. If they look great, fit where they’re supposed to and you just can’t stop wearing them well … isn’t that the point of a great pair of jeans?

Boyfriend Jeans

Anyone can wear boyfriend jeans. Big booty, flat butt, saggy butt – it doesn’t matter. Because the beauty of this jeans style is the fact that they’re baggy, loose – kind of designed to lool a little ill-fitting.

Like you’ve just nabbed your boyfriend’s jeans.

So forget your booty. Forget about what’s going on with the junk in your trunk. Instead, dress casual, dress from the front, not the back. Forget your ass. No matter what, it’s gonna follow you around all day anyway and the denim that’s covering it is gonna be a little slack anyway so …

Boyfriend Jeans

Some folks lean towards the fact that BF jeans can make your ass look good. And to be honest, they can. But like I said – that’s not what the design is all about. They’re supposed to look a little sloppy, a little deconstructed and distressed.

If you live under a rock and you don’t own a pair or haven’t heard of them, go borrow you boyfriend/husband/brother’s jeans. Try them on. Do they look fairly slipshod, a bit big – long in the groin? That’s what boyfriend jeans are supposed to look like.

And if you’re fella is ten sizes bigger than you, forget borrowing his. ‘Cos that’s too big. Go buy a pair. You can pick them up for less than $50, online, offline, wherever. You can buy low-risers, regular, ripped, bleached and destroyed looking.

How To Wear Boyfriend Jeans

Whatever you prefer, there’s a style within the style.

Go regular – add a snazzy tee and flats. Boho chic means throwing something soft and floaty in the mix – a cool tunic top, vintage wear. Rock it up with ripped jeans, cool black tops and rockin’ tees and slip your feet into a pair of Converse or similar.

Just tune into what suits you – and don’t forget two major tips:

• Turn up the ankles
• Only straight-legged boyfriend jeans – no flares or boot cuts

Slip your imperfect booty into imperfect jeans – and relax. That’s the beauty of boyfriend cut jeans.

Best Jeans For You

The best jeans for your depends upon several factors. Your size and shape, the style, fit and cut and most importantly … how they look once you’re wearing them. Sound confusing? It’s not meant to be. But the fact is too many people buy the wrong style, the wrong size – opt for a cheaper pair thinking they’re saving money.

There’s a myriad of reasons as to why you, I or anyone else can end up looking like a washed out fashion victim when it comes to denim. But there’s no need to. And neither is there and excuse.

Best Jeans For You

Trust me, the best jeans for you are out there. And you just have to loop yourself into one simple little fact: jeans are designed by different designers – therefore something somewhere will be designed around your particular size and shape.

From Levis jeans to True Religion jeans, Hudsons to Not Your Daughters Jeans, there will be a brand, a style, a color and design out there somewhere, hanging on a rack or folded up all back of the bus / waiting for you to find them.

Once you remember the basics:

• Size
• Style
• Your body shape

… you’ll be a little closer to finding something that suits not just your body but your personal tastes and sense of style. Even if you’re the kind of person that prefers casual over tailored, you will find what you’re looking for.

The best pair of jeans are easier to locate when half the fashion junk that surrounds style and current trends is debunked. It doesn’t matter if you’re into hip-hop, urban chic, gothic cool or hot and sassy, the right jeans for you will already be in a shop, online or sat embedded within the folds of a clothing catalogue.

That said I suppose it’s fair to say that nothing is perfect and with that in mind, there’s no such things as the perfect jeans but there is such a thing as the right jeans for you. And that’s what you’re aiming for.

Which … in turn … makes them the best jeans for you.
